1.304 Stainless Steel, generally available in Camalloy's warehouse inventory, withstands ordinary corrosion in architecture, is durable in typical food processing environments, and resists most chemicals. The most commonly specified austenitic (chromium-nickel stainless class) stainless steel, accounting for more than half of the stainless steel produced in the world. With its chromium-nickel content and low-carbon, Type 304 is the most versatile and widely used of the austenitic stainless steels. It has excellent drawing and forming characteristics which allows more severely deep-drawn use than Types 301 and 301 without intermediate heating. Type 304 is available in virtually all product forms and finishes.
